Apache Junction

AJ Winner

It seems like we’ve been waiting a while for this win, but it was only Apache Junction’s (High Chaparral IRE/My Little Girl) 4th start, where he finally put it all together, taking out the Newcastle Equine Centre Maiden at Newcastle over 1850m on Saturday 3rd February 2018. He jumped well, going straight to the front. He was briefly challenged by ‘Any Saturday’ but still had control of the race, rated well by jockey Mitchell Bell.  He quickened the tempo from the 600m mark and kicked away nicely at the top of the straight. He finished strongly to win by nearly 2 lengths.

Purchased at the Inglis Ready to Run sale as a 2yo last year, he is by staying sire High Chaparral. With improvement to come, he should give his great group of owners, which include the Peters; Johnston and Eichhorn, the Bourkes, a few friends and The Coffs Harbour Crew  a good deal to cheer about.

Congratulations to all of AJ’s owners and connections.
