The stable was rewarded in the ‘Book Now for the Polytrack Provincial Championships’ Class 1 Handicap for Fillies and Mares, over 1350m at Wyong, Thursday 25th February 2021. It was the Waikato Stud owned filly, Bargain (Ocean Park/Shopaholic) that saluted in the fifth with stablemate Rosie Riveter (Dissident/Albaicin) running second, giving the stable the race quinella.
Rosie Riveter showed her natural speed out the gates to lead, while Bargain dropped out positioning near the rear. Rosie was comfortable up front controlling the race. At the turn jockey Rachel King had Bargain weaving through the field to better her position and as soon as a split opened, she dashed through to win by over a length with the stablemate running second.
It was great to see both horses run so well. A special mention to the strapper who has had a lengthy time away, recovering from injury. Welcome back Zac.
