It took the Anzac Day weekend for the stable to return to form and enjoy three winners, each with their own special story adding to the spirit of the occasion.

We kicked off at Royal Randwick Racecourse with Sprintex (Snitzel/Acquired) ridden by Jockey Josh Parr, taking out the Group 3 TAB Hall Mark Stakes over 1200m. On the eve of the Anzac Day march, it was very fitting that owner Geoff Grimish, a Vietnam veteran could claim the win.

Next, we head to Brisbane where Lord Olympus (Olympic Glory/Lady Zabelia) saluted in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate over 1110m at Doomben Racecourse. Ridden by Jockey Michael Cahill, who after jumping last had to duck and weave through the field to grab victory right on the line, surviving a biting lunge from second place getter Zingalong.

On Anzac Day itself, Sunday 25th April 2021 we saw Marway (Hemmingway/Maredamah) or ‘Mickey’ as he is affectionately called by his owners (the Sturgiss and Wagner Families) head back to Randwick, this time on the Kensington track. Ridden by Josh Parr, this 5yo gelding jumped from barrier 10 in the Victory in the Pacific Handicap over the 1250m journey. From then on it was Marway, all the way, putting on quite a show for his owners who had come a long way to see their boy in action.

Congratulations to all owners, connections and a special thank you to all our loyal staff, who without them we would not get to enjoy weekends like this one.
