It has been a frustrating journey waiting for this 3yo bay filly, Arousal (Snitzel/Intimate Moment) to have the opportunity to showcase the talent she possesses. She cost $1.1 million and was purchased during the very last session at the Magic Millions Yearling Sales in January 2018.
She had a set back early on in her career, incurring an injury in her very first trial back in December 2018. With a lot of TLC and patience from her owners we have managed to finally get her to the racetrack.
At Canterbury tonight 13th December 2019, in only her second start, jockey Josh Parr gave her a lovely ride from an awkward barrier in number 11. She just relaxed in running and at the 300m mark unleashed, picking up the leaders with consummate ease, coming away with an effortless win over 1200m in The Agency Projects Maiden Handicap. Fittingly the well named Waterhouse/Bott trained filly Single Blonde (Not A Single Doubt/Regrowth) ran second, making for an amusing quinella combination.
Hopefully there is more in store for this precocious filly and we look forward to the journey ahead.
