The precocious half-sister to Greysful Glamour stamped her credentials in her own right to continue her journey to the 2019 Oaks. Older sister took out the VRC Oaks Trial over 1800m at Flemington twelve months ago and today, 25thSeptember 2019 Celestial Falls led all the way for a brilliant victory in the very same race.
It wasn’t the plan to lead but Celestial Falls was a little keen in the early parts of the race. Jockey let her stride out but once she found her tempo, he had her relaxing up front. Brilliantly rated by Tim Clark who provided us all with a masterclass on front riding tactics. She won by 1-1/4 lengths, easing down.
The filly is owned by a large group of owners managed by Darby Syndications, who have been staunch supporters of ours since the stable’s inception. Loren Wadsworth, representing Darby gave a very polished display, accepting the trophy and graciously thanking trainer and jockey.
Onwards and upwards for this filly, let’s hope we can go one better this year and take out the VRC Oaks. Congratulations to all connections on such an impressive win.
