Expat (Makfi/Utmost Caution) took out the XXXX Handicap over 1400m at Rosehill today, Saturday 3rd July 2021. It was the last race of the day and she jumped well to take up the lead. From there she led all the way, revelling in the heavy conditions, crossing the line nearly two lengths in front. A very easy watch indeed.
Rated superbly by jockey Josh Parr, filling in for suspended and last start winning rider Sam Clipperton, who won on this filly at the same track a fortnight ago. She certainly is a surprise packet, a renowned lazy worker who just knows when race day is. Expat always tries hard in her races and has just kept on improving with every start.
Congratulations to owner Tony McGrath who also got to enjoy his other runner Taksu (with trainer Joe Pride) taste victory in Race 8.
