The 3- year-old chestnut filly Expat (Makfi/Utmost Caution) just keeps surprising, a notable unassuming track worker and trialler, she ‘brings it’ on race day or night as it was for this meeting at Canterbury, 12th February 2021, taking out the Sky Racing Active Handicap over 1200m.

She jumped widest but powered out to take the lead from barrier 14. Stable Apprentice Jockey Tom Sherry rated her as well as any senior rider could have done. Holding the fence, and the lead, all the way to score the win by over a length.

Congratulations to the owner Tony McGrath who has had the pleasure of seeing her win three out of her four starts this preparation.

She will go out for a well-earned rest now with a city win under her belt but be wary punters of underestimating this filly on her return to the track!

Future Star-Just a quick mention of stable mate Darling Diamond’s quick finish, running on past the line in this same race. All looks well for her staying future.
