This 3yo Gooree homebred Full Recognition, cast off his maiden status at Newcastle today taking out the Hungerford Hill Maiden Plate over 1300m, Thursday 21stMarch 2019. He initially jumped only fairly from barrier 8 but was propelled forward by Jockey Tommy Berry. He sat second to leader Classic Warrior (Al Maher/Pyrotechnics), ambling along at a comfortable pace. As soon as Full Recognition (Smart Missile/Zutara) hit the top of the straight he showed what talent he has, putting paid to his rivals and winning by over 2.5 lengths. Justifying why he was the $1.30 favourite, with Corporal (Dawn Approach/Allez Gal) running second and Royal Captain (Lonhro/Armed for Action) securing third position.
It is always a relief when a short-priced favourite comes home in first place, but it was still a great pleasure to have another winner for Mr Cojuangco, Jeanette Tioseco and the team at Gooree Stud.
