Our final winner for the season came in the form of Sixgun (Snitzel/Acquired), taking out the Precise Air Handicap over 1000m at Randwick today, 31st July 2021. His wayward manners are well documented, but his talent has never been in doubt.
Sixgun jumped from barrier 10, stayed back while the hectic speed upfront played out. At the 600m mark Apprentice Tom Sherry took off wide and met a blanket of horses all taking the turn together. Down the straight Sixgun emerged from the pack along with Battleground (Snitzel/Madam Andree) and the two fought tooth and nail to gain the upper hand, with Sixgun taking the honours.
Congratulations to Geoff and Mary Grimish on their wonderful success on the track and in the breeding barn. The dam, Acquired has produced recent winners for the stable in Splintex, Invictus Salute and Sixgun.
His win topped off a great season for the Stable, clocking up 97 winners and with Tom Sherry, now officially crowned the winner of the Metropolitan Apprentice Premiership for 2020/2021.
