The well-bred filly Miravalle (Redoutes Choice/Condesaar) raced by Arrowfield Stud, finally showed the talent that we knew she possessed all along. Both horse and jockey Tom Sherry, now share their first Group 3 win together, the Carlton Draft Kembla Grange Classic over 1600m held Friday 12th March 2021.
She jumped okay from barrier 7 but was eased back to secure a spot on the fence. Once there Miravalle was able to re-position to fifth spot, maintaining her place on the rails. In the straight our other runner Darling Diamond (Pierro/Diamond Drille) was held up for a run while Mirravalle weaved through a gap. Once in the open she kept improving, securing her first Group win, making for a very exciting finish.
Thanks to Arrowfield for the support and supply of beautifully bred fillies like Miravalle, the half-sister to 2016 Spring Champion Stakes winner Yankee Rose.
Bring on the Oaks!
