Just like his name suggests Mission Phoenix (Reset/Oh Susannah) has risen from the ashes to win again. His last time to do so was 3 years ago, November 2019. Tonight, he saluted at Canterbury’s first night meeting of the season, Friday 11th November 2022 in the Piccolo Me Handicap over 1550m.

Another perfect ride by Apprentice Jockey Tyler Schiller saw him jump well and take up a position on the fence. From there he maintained the lead, but in a manner that the horse was comfortable and travelling well within himself. He produced a nice turn of foot at the 200m mark, keeping any would-be contenders at bay. Winning by over 2 lengths, it was great to see him back in the winner’s stall after such a long time off with injury.

Congratulations to Mr Paul Cheng and Mr Lam, his very patient Hong Kong based owners.
