Well we have kicked off the month with a bang. The stable already notching up 3 winners and only eight days into the start of the new season. Firstly Academy (Shamus Award/Couredge) took out a Class 1 Handicap at Kembla Grange on Saturday 3rd August, over 1400m for jockey Travis Wolfgram and a team of owners at Darby Racing.
We finally got a win for the very deserving Captain Stardust (Star Witness/Askari) for the boys at Tricolours Racing & Syndications, securing success in a 3YO Maiden Handicap over 1580m at Canterbury on Wednesday 7thAugust. He was ridden to perfection by jockey Tommy Berry. (Special mention to the fast finishing Quintessa (Pierro/Sense of Hite) who ran an eye-catching third).
Today, Thursday 8thAugust, Super Oasis (Exceed & Excel/Puzzle) saluted in the Windang F&M Maiden Handicap over 1000m at Kembla Grange. Teaming up with returning jockey Nash Rawiller. Bred by Newhaven Park, the filly jumped and settled mid field. Following a predetermined plan to gain cover from the howling winds she found herself on the fence, crowded up and unable to find a pathway out. With just seconds to spare Nash managed to get her in the clear, balance her up and overtake the leader Maisaa, resulting in a heart-in-the-mouth yet extremely impressive victory. The talented Super Oasis should have many more thrills instore for her Hong Kong based owners, the Chen family.
Congratulations to all our owners. May the 2019/2020 season be the start of many more winning moments to come.
