The first day of the new month of February evoked a winning double for trainer and stable Apprentice Jockey Tom Sherry, combining forces to take out race five and six.

Race five saw Ashra Jahra (Headwater/Jahre) produce an emphatic win in the Sage Painting Handicap over 1200m. This chestnut filly jumped well from barrier 9, worked across to the fence and then proceeded to lead throughout. At the 250m mark she dashed well clear, winning by over two lengths in the end.

Race six was almost an action replay of the previous race with Expat (Makfi/Utmost Caution) another Chestnut filly, tasting victory in the Bass Floor Handicap over 1250m. She also jumped well but from barrier 5, worked across to the fence and then proceeded to lead throughout. This time a late challenge was mounted by the Ron Quinton trained Media Starguest nearly spoiling the party, but Expat managed to hang on.

Another terrific double for the stable, congratulations to all owners and connections.
