Today, Saturday 28th September 2019 at Rosehill Racecourse, we witnessed something very special. Shadow Hero, 3yo brown gelding by Pierro out of Sookie (bred by good friends the Kolivos Family), won the Group 3 Antler Gloaming Stakes over 1800m.

His convincing win confirmed the status and long-standing regard the stable has held him in. There is no ‘shadow’ of a doubt that he is a legitimate contender going into the Spring Champion Stakes, to be run at Randwick (2000m) on 12th October and then targeting the Victorian Derby to be run at Flemington 2nd November (2500m).

Shadow Hero was selected and purchased at the Inglis 2018 Classic Yearling Sale by David Lui of Sweetbriar Equine, who was unable to attend Saturday’s race but was ably represented by Patrick Yeung and family.

Ridden by Josh Parr, Shadow Hero blitzed his rivals with a runaway victory consisting of 3 ¼ lengths. He is just such a relaxed horse which is in direct contrast to the state he has left all his connections in. We are all so thrilled to see what the future holds for the very exciting Shadow Hero.
