Today Thursday, 15th October 2020, Mission Legend a bay gelding by Reward for Effort, out of Our Fairy Bee took out the Aaron Huke 3yo Maiden Handicap over 1000m at Kembla Grange.

Mission Legend jumped mid-field from barrier 5. Ridden by Stable Apprentice Tyler Schiller he was wide with cover, that is until the bend. At the turn he hung badly, not taking the corner very well at all. After straightening he received a ‘love tap’ from Tyler, so then he decided to head for the outside fence.

Rider did get him to straighten again and with his large striding action he still managed to win, despite his wayward manners.

Congratulations to Mr Paul Cheng and his other Hong Kong based owners. Once we iron out a few bad habits, I am sure this horse will give the ownership group plenty to cheer about in the future.

  1. The trainer did have a race named in his honour today, the Mark Newnham Class 1 Handicap but unfortunately the stable runner Zanzidance could only muster 3rd place.
