By now we all know how tough Quackerjack (Not A Single Doubt/Quack It) is but to see him ‘attack’ the line in the Liverpool City Cup on Saturday 29th February 2020 was something else. The Group 3 race was held at Randwick over 1300m with Jockey Josh Parr at the helm, carrying 56.5kg he had to fight off the Anthony Cummings trained Vegadaze (Lope de Vega/Rainy Daze) with only 53kg on his back. This horse’s determination and sheer will to win is just extraordinary.
Almost all of the ownership group were able to attend the meeting but special mention to Rennie De Maria who made the journey up from Melbourne to see his horse run for the very first time in person and Quackerjack didn’t disappoint.
The stable also had another runner in this race in Lanciato (Per Incanto/Surreptitious), who made a fantastic return to racing after a long break. Officially running 6th but beaten just over 2.5 lengths, showing he still has the fire in his belly and the desire to compete.
Congratulations to all owners and connections of both horses, continuing the successful run of the stable.
