Sanstoc (Tavistock NZ/Sara Ann NZ) lived up to some of the hype surrounding her by taking out the Justin Sheehan Maiden Plate over 1500m at Kembla Grange Racecourse today 22nd February 2022.
This three-year-old bay filly jumped brilliantly from barrier 8 but was held wide, so rider Tom Sherry elected to take her back and allow the speed battle to continue upfront.
Coming wide on the turn Sanstoc came down the middle of the track taking rival Stormy Legend (Not a Single Doubt/Stormy Hussey) with her. The two contested the lead down the straight with Sanstoc doing the better to take out the win.
Congratulations to Manager Peter Orton of Vinery Stud, owners, and connections, exciting times ahead.
