The ever-so handsome Shadow Devil (Capitalist/Cloak of Night) ventured to Gosford on Friday 14th January 2022 to contest race 6 the Big Boy Nanas Handicap over 1200m.

Again, combining with Stable Apprentice Jockey Tom Sherry, he only jumped fairly from barrier 5 to eventually take up a spot on the fence, close to the rear of the field. Held hard up against the fence, he was unable to clear himself from traffic. He briefly came out off the rails but was still surrounded by a wall of horses, so went back up along the fence, the only other option. It was not until around the 150m mark that he was able to obtain free passage by performing a miraculous manoeuvre, defying the laws of physics he took a 90-degree turn, seemingly without missing any momentum. Once out, he knew what to do. Easily accounting for the leaders, launching over the top of them to claim the mind-blowing win on the line. It was truly such an astonishing race to watch.

Shadow Devil is such an exciting colt, and we eagerly await the day his Hong Kong based owners can travel to see him race in person. Congratulations SE.
