The precocious Silvakia (Reliable Man/Slovakian) made her racing debut in style on Sunday, 17th July at Hawkesbury, taking out the Hawkesbury Helping Hands Handicap over 1300m.

She left the gates only fairly and was slow into stride. Caught wide, jockey Tom Sherry decided to go around them to take up a position on the fence. From there she secured the lead and hugged the rail all the way. In the straight she was never really challenged, scoring in the end by half a length, encouraged by the noise coming from the grandstand no doubt.

It was such a thrill to win for the ownership group which includes a great bunch of people, many of them close friends. The talented Silvakia is full of promise, and it is very exciting to think of what might be ahead.

Congratulations to all connections, anticipating much more to come.
