A mid-week meeting at Warwick Farm, 3rd March 2021 saw the stable take out the last race with newly acquired import The Irishman (Tavistock/Zeranti). The 3yo bay colt saluting in the TAB Handicap over 1400m.

He jumped from barrier 5 and settled just worse than mid-field. He travelled well to the turn when a gap opened. Apprentice Jockey Tom Sherry took the horse to the lead for what looked like would be a dominant win, but a late challenge by Saigon (I Am Invincible/Saigon Tea) had the judge calling for the photo. A few anxious moments passed with The Irishman finally declared the winner.

It was The Irishman’s first run for the stable, so it was terrific to win for the connections. He was purchased from New Zealand by Anthony Fan of Hong Kong Bloodstock for his owner Mr MB Lee. I’m sure there will be plenty more thrills to come.
