Today, Tuesday 8th October 2019 at Goulburn our latest Irish recruit and newly apprenticed Tom Sherry rode his first winner on Australian soil. Looking extremely polished and with his 4kg claim, Tom took Aeecee Vinco (Charge Forward/Masked Romance) a 3yo bay colt to the fence, finding his way in from Barrier 9. He then led all the way to the finishing post, taking out Race 3, Divalls Earthmoving Class 1 Handicap over 1000m in style.

This young man has had to go through a lot of red tape to have his indentures validated here in Australia but today he showed why perseverance and hard work go a long way to place you on your chosen path.  He has a lovely seat and will be in great demand for rides in the country and provincial circuits before plying his trade on the metropolitan tracks.

He sported the colours of the Australian Chinese Jockey Club (Blue, Gold Logo, Arm Bands and Cap) the first of many more wins to come. Congratulations to the ownership group and a very deserving apprentice jockey.
