The ever-consistent Zain’s Girl (Zoustar/Showhama) waited until the mid-week meeting on the Kensington track at Randwick 17th March 2021 to declare her maiden win in the ANZ Bloodstock News Plate over 1100m. She had been placed four times in her previous five starts but thanks to patient owners Mr S & Mr R Ykmour, who allowed her the time to develop and strengthen, we were finally rewarded today.

Zain’s Girl jumped well, positioned third on the fence by Apprentice Tom Sherry, allowing Double Ex to take the lead. Travelling at a relaxed gait she came wide on the turn and at the 200m mark made her intentions clear, coming away to win comfortably by a length.

It was great to see the flashy colours of Rami Ykmour (Old Gold, Black Stars) salute the judge and the excitement that comes along with that. Congratulations to all concerned.
