A cloudy Sunday at Newcastle saw Aramis (Contributer NZ/Bella Caroliner NZ) win in his only second ever race start in the Charlestown Square Maiden Handicap over 1300m, 28th November 2021.

The 3-year-old gelding jumped from barrier 2, settling just off the pace in fourth position. Gathering momentum at the turn, Apprentice Jockey Tom Sherry mounted a challenge using the long straight to chip away at Sabalenka’s (Swiss Ace/Fifty Eight Facets) lead to claim the win, much to the delight of a great group of owners, including the Cooks- Frank and Christine of Mystery Downs.

A terrific win for the very promising Aramis, congratulations to all owners and connections.
